Taskforce Veteran is an organisation that supports Australia’s 700,000+ past, current, and future veterans and their families. Founded in 2018, the organisation is committed to raising awareness of veterans’ contributions, supporting their well-being, preserving military history, and modernising the sector to meet the evolving needs of the veteran community.
With research showing that male veterans are more at risk of mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and suicide than the general population, Taskforce Veteran provides an inclusive space for Australian veterans of all nationalities, abilities, cultural identities, religious backgrounds, sexualities, and genders to find community, access support, and foster a sense of purpose.
HOW WE WORK
Pure Public Relations partnered with Taskforce Veteran on a targeted public relations campaign to raise awarneess of the physical, mental, and social challenges that veterans face today. These issues range from homelessness and mental health crises to gaps in education and employment opportunities for veterans.
The campaign focused largely on demonstrating the work that Taskforce Veteran was doing to alleviate these far-reaching issues, including the renovation of the historic Scheyville Officer Training Unit in Hawkesbury, NSW, which will serve as a community hub and safe space for veterans and their families. The campaign also highlighted the conversion of houses at Calvary Cessnock Residential Aged Care site into crisis accommodation for veterans in need.
Media coverage of these initiatives significantly raised public awareness, not only locally but nationally, underscoring Taskforce Veteran’s dedication and gaining community support for their mission.
To position Taskforce Veteran as a leading voice in veteran affairs, we secured bylined articles, op-eds, and interview opportunities for Taskforce Veteran founder and chairman, Brett Wild. Leveraging significant dates, including ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day, as well as aligning with relevant news stories, such as the Report into Defence and Veteran Suicide, we ensured these crucial issues remained in the public spotlight.
In addition to earned PR opportunities, Pure Public Relations also worked with Taskforce Veteran to refine its messaging across its website and LinkedIn to resonate with the organisation’s goals, fostering engagement and building a loyal following.
