Carer Solutions is Australia’s only service that enables you to directly employ disability support workers you know and trust. Founded by CEO Jane Morrell in 2011, Carer Solutions’ human-centric services are designed to enable the approximately 4.4 million Australians living with a disability to live self-determined lives.
Carer Solutions’ Direct Employ service facilitates everything from paying wages to employer insurance and compliance, along with keeping employers up to date with NDIS changes and key information.
HOW WE WORK
Carer Solutions engaged Pure Public Relations for both public relations and government relations services to promote its unique, Australian-first Direct Employ model. Media coverage surrounding the NDIS was not only widespread but largely critical of the scheme and its participants, requiring Pure Public Relations to build a campaign that would cut through the noise and advocate for people living with disabilities.
Using a combination of profile and opinion pieces, the campaign achieved media coverage that positioned Jane Morrell as a trusted expert and passionate advocate for Australians living with a disability. Pure Public Relations also created impactful case studies that highlighted Carer Solutions’s key points of difference, including the experiences of its partners who utilise the brand’s unique service. This approach improved audience recognition of the client’s Direct Employ model and raised mainstream media awareness regarding the importance of finding the right carers for people with disabilities.
On the government relations front, Pure Public Relations co-designed the following goals with Carer Solutions to bolster their engagement with key policy decision-makers:
- Continue awareness raising by identifying new MPs for Carer Solutions to meet with and booking meetings with key political and policy leaders.
- Nurture and grow relationships that we supported Carer Solutions to build with the federal government and state and territory governments.
- Champion and advocate on key issues, such as the ability of participants to seek support, by advising how to advocate to the government for a resolution.
With these goals in mind, we secured key meetings between Carer Solutions and key government officials, including but not limited to:
- The office of the Minister for the NDIS, Hon Bill Shorten
- The Shadow Assistant Minister for the NDIS, Senator Hollie Hughes
- The Tasmanian Minister for Disability Services, Jo Palmer
- The Queensland Shadow Minister for Disability Services, John-Paul Langbroek
- Shadow NDIS Minister Michael Sukkar
- Federal MP Josh Burns
- Northern Territory Disability Minister Ngaree Ah Kit
