Facebook has announced a new feature that will allow you to increase interaction with your Facebook page through your blog and website. The new Facebook plug-in makes embedded posts possible, so that you can easily add public posts to your blog and/or website.
Just like YouTube clips that you embed on your blog or website, Embedded Posts are displayed exactly how they are seen on Facebook. You also have the extended ability to show pictures, videos, hashtags and other content. Users are also able to interact with posts as per normal, by having the option to like, comment, share, follow, and also like the Page. This means you do not have to be on the social media site itself in order to interact with these posts.
Embedded Posts not only promise a more visual way of showcasing information, but also encourage a more interactive experience with the content on your blog/website. A great benefit is that creating Embedded Posts will help your brand become more discoverable on Facebook through the use of hashtags and Facebook Interest lists – the two main tools that will be used to search for great posts to embed.
.
So how can your small business take advantage of this new marketing tool?
The important thing to focus on is the aspect of it being real-time. Embed posts that show off positive customer engagement, whether this is through comments on a popular post or a chat/Q&A thread. Not only do Embedded Posts have the potential to improve the web experience of your site, they will help encourage your customer to get to know your brand on different platforms.
.
One thing to remember is that new features on Facebook are privacy aware, so only public posts will be able to be embedded. Of course, these settings can be adjusted accordingly. Also keep in mind that Facebook have only made this available to a select few at the moment, and are in the process of rolling it out to all other users very soon.
