On Wednesday Good Business Consulting will close for the holidays. I am looking forward to celebrating Christmas and everything it represents, spending quality time with family and friends and seeing the faces of children when they unwrap the gifts you give them.
However, perhaps more exciting than the prospect of spending countless hours at the beach and my favourite swimming pool, is knowing that I will have time to catch up on my reading.
I have exactly 39 books that I am dying to read or re-read during the holidays. Talk about realistic expectations, huh?
As this blog is all about marketing, public relations and small business (and how those three work together), I thought I would share with you the books that I will be reading over the Christmas holidays that relate to those topics.
Here’s some of the books waiting to be picked up by me and read (click on the image to enlarge):
I would particularly recommend:
- What Would Google Do
- small is the new big by Seth Godin (available here)
- The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale (available here). This is particularly important for small business to combat self-doubt and discouragement that comes with starting a new business and taking it to the next level. I have this on my iPhone and as an audio book in the car.
- Duct Tape Marketing by John Jantsch (available here)
- The Referral Engine (not in this pic) by John Jantsch (available here
What’s on your reading list?
I’ve had my eye on Unmarketing for a little while now! You’ll have to tell me what it’s like. I have a bit of a ban on buying more books at the moment! (I’ll let you guess why…. looks something similar to your photo 😉 )
Enjoy your reading – please let us know what you recommend and what to avoid!
Merry Christmas x
